“He is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Alleluia!

A blessed Easter Season to you. Rev. Paul reported, “We had a wonderful Easter.  Services every night of Holy Week.  We drove people in from Baja (the community with a church/school plant overseen by Yves) and there were people from the community and, of course, all of our people.  It was very good.” Let us all praise God that the Word of the Lord continues to grow in the hearts and minds of people throughout the world.

Rev. Paul also shared, “We have been working a lot on the cafeteria, tile and other finishing-up work.” The cafeteria is at the school, and this will allow for more efficient cooking with some gas stoves along with not needing to transport food for the daily meal provided through the school. College Evangelique le Lutherien de Ouanaminthe is the name ofthe school directed by Rev. Paul’s ministry. Our school has a partnership with Trinity Hope feeding program that helps provide a daily meal for all the school students. (Photos attached or on Facebook @nehlmhaiti)

Some of the children recently participated in a Taekwondo competition; they are “one the the best teams in Haiti.” Rev. Paul reported that there are possibilities for them to represent Haiti in some international competitions.

Nord Est Haiti Lutheran Mission (NEHLM) has had the need for mattresses as a priority for several months.  This should be good news as some mission teams have noticed the poor condition of mattresses for a couple years.  We are planning to take some protective covers with us this summer as moisture does effect the mattress quality quickly. Rev. Paul mentioned that Clynie (his wife) had a sore arm. She has also dealt with some back problems. I insisted that he obtain a good mattress for them as they get the other mattresses. He is very thankful for all that is done through NEHLM.
