An uplifting Ascension Day to you today Thursday, May 5th.
I asked Rev. Paul what he was going to preach on for Sunday, May 1stwhen I talked with him on Saturday. He responded, “I will be preaching of John chapter 14, the first 14 verses. I will explain how the Holy Spirit points them (us) to the Ascension. The Ascension is wonderful, good news because Jesus is going to prepare everything for us.” I thanked him for his insight. This is a good reminder for us to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading. He leads on enriching paths through this time to the eternal pleasures in life eternal.
The rain has fallen on their land in Ouanaminthe, Haiti! Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Rev. Paul reported on the agricultural environment, “We have plenty of rain now. We have planted yuca, black-eyed peas, corn, plantain (and a couple other crops that I did not get written down). We will be working the gardens, and we will have a new life.”
I found his response to the many hours of strenuous work for him, some workers, and the children to be encouraging. They are more than ready and willing to work the ground to provide some food for themselves and usually some to sell. It is a joy to be walking along with these thrifty and energetic people.
God’s peace and a blessed, uplifting Ascension Day,
Rev. Sam Wiseman
